How much can 4CELNK-YR flatBack Clips Hold?

The cable area for the small 4CELNK-YR flatBack clips is designed to hold about 4-5 typical “SVT” power cords (UL-Type SVT, 3C/18AWG 300V, ~6mm in diameter), but as you can see, when you get them in there, it will hold 8-ish. Are you SERIOUS? The cable area for the large flatBack clips is, well, BIG. It was partially designed for those cases where there’s just a mass of cables, and you’d rather get them restrained now, and deal with the organization later. If you do plan to put that many in, be sure you don’t overload whatEVER adhesive you’ve got …

Warnings & Cautions

Please keep the following in mind when using 4CELNK-YR cable clips: Watch for damaged, worn, frayed or otherwise dangerous cables, and replace all that are unsafe. Dangling, partially-secured cords beneath desks, tables, and in shelving can in some instances present electrocution and strangling hazards. Be wary! The 4CELNK-YR arms are closely spaced, and there is spring tension holding them together. Use with care to avoid getting pinched or struck by the arms. 4CELNK-YR Cable Clips are not UL-Listed, they are not specially plenum-rated, nor are they flame-retardant. 4CELNK-YR Cable Clips are not a “safety device”. 4CELNK-YR Cable Clips are not …

Made to Fit standard thin-walled EMT

EMT is one type of tubing normally used to carry electrical wires. The three types are, from lightest to thickest: Electrical-Mechanical Tubing (EMT), InterMediate-(weight) Tubing (IMT) and Rigid Metal Conduit (RMC). They all have their own standard sizes, which is to say they are not the same as what they’re called. A one-inch EMT is actually more than an 1/8th larger than 1″ on the outside: it’s 1.167″! So…. IMPORTANT: Be sure of the type and diameter you will be attaching to before ordering! Opened packages will not be accepted for return. EMT is used in picnic and event canopies …

How much can 4CELNK-YR Rack Clips Hold?

The cable areas in the clips for 1.0 inch diameter tubing are designed to hold 8 typical “SVT” power cords (UL-Type SVT, 3C/18AWG 300V, ~6mm in diameter), as shown here. The area available on the 0.25 clips, that fit over the shelf racks, is about 6-7 SVT cords, while the 0.25 Large Capacity clips can easily hold 10-12 SVT cords. The Large Capacity clips are more intended for tubes you might find in a hydroponic or laboratory setup. “Well yeah, but my cables are HEAVY!” The thing to remember is that no component is ever infinitely strong, nor will anything …

How many EMT clips will I need?

If you’re running 1-2 lightweight, say Cat5 cables, you can get away with 4-5 feet between clips. At the maximum capacity of ~8 Ethernet cables, you’ll want to put them more like 2-3 feet depending on the situation. The smaller 0.5 and 0.75 EMT clips are made to hold more like 3-4 cables each, owing to the lower strength of the EMT it’s being attached to. With the lower strength and fewer cords, you can estimate 2-3 feet between clips in those sizes as well. For example, this photo is the EMT 1.0 clip easily holding 9 x CAT5e Ethernet …

How much can they hold?

The cable areas in the clips for tubing diameters 1.0 inch and above are designed to hold at least 7 typical “SVT” power cords (UL-Type SVT, 3C/18AWG 300V, ~6mm in diameter). On the OR3V models, the Base Kit has parts to manage cables on both sides of the rig, so expect 12-16 “power cord equivalents” (PCE) total capacity on the rig, front-to-back. Up the thruster mount / mouse platform you’ll get about 6-7 PCE. The 1.25 Expanded Capacity clips have a secondary channel, sized for ~4 16AWG two-conductor speaker cables, in addition to the 8 SVTs on the other side. …

How much can the EMT clips hold?

The cable areas in the clips for tubing diameters 1.0 inch and above are designed to hold 7-8 typical “SVT” power cords (UL-Type SVT, 3C/18AWG 300V, ~6mm in diameter). The under-1.0 inch sizes are made to handle 4-5 SVTs. “Well yeah, but my cables are HEAVY!” The thing to remember is that no component is ever infinitely strong, nor will anything (besides time itself) last forever. The same is true with 4CELNK-YR clips. There is some large amount of force that will break them. I haven’t reached it yet, but it’s not at all impossible to yank on a cable …
